Position Summary:
The CLO Debt & Equity Trading Assistant is mainly responsible for supporting the CLO Debt & Equity team in all aspects of the investment trading and monitoring process as well as providing additional support to the broader trading team. We are looking for a professional with up to 2 years of trading assistant or CLO operations experience. The CLO Debt & Equity Trading Assistant will report to a Principal on the CLO Debt & Equity team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the CLO Debt & Equity Team, CLO Trader, and Loan Traders in maintenance of trade management systems and trade booking
- Assist CLO Debt & Equity team members with approval tracking, month end price testing, and compliance testing in coordination with the Compliance department
- Book daily trades, primarily CLO Debt & Equity, with additional responsibilities supporting Loans/Bonds/ETFs/Options
- Create and maintain Indication of Interest spreadsheets for CLO tranche trades
- Reconcile trade recaps for accuracy against internal trade bookings
- Set up New Assets in internal system (Everest)
- Monitor and notify internal stakeholders of third-party CLO redemptions/calls
- Daily cash reporting, work closely with Technology and Accounting Teams on cash projections for CLO Debt & Equity accounts
- Maintain CLO Debt & Equity internal trade blotters
- Assist Portfolio Managers/Traders/CLO Debt & Equity team on ad-hoc requests
- Assist Credit Administration and Accounting Teams on trade issue remediation and reconciliation
Areas of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience in CLOs, syndicated loans, loan products or trading operations
- Strong knowledge of the Primary and Secondary CLO and/or Loan trading market
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills with exemplary attention to detail
- Outstanding reputation of professional integrity and maturity
- Highly motivated, proactive team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to multi‐task, be proactive, work independently, and work effectively under pressure (often under deadlines and changing priorities)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable interacting and building relationships with all teams (including senior management) across the firm and affiliated organizations
- Ability to clearly articulate views and supporting data
