This role is based in the New York office Monday through Thursday. Fridays are remote.
What can you expect?
As part of the Blue Owl HR function, the VP, HR Business Partner will provide HR partnership to the Institutional Business Development team and partner with the CHRO on HR initiatives. This role will provide forward-looking strategic HR counsel and support to the respective leadership teams. The role will align people and talent initiatives with business objectives to help drive superior organizational performance. The HR Business Partner will own the relationship with these leaders while partnering with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations and other HRBP peers to deliver exceptional service to their clients.
The HR Business Partner will have an intellectual curiosity to gain a solid understanding of the businesses they support. They will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and have an ability to get to solutions and execute on those solutions.
We will count on you to:
Immerse into the respective businesses, staying abreast of business and workforce priorities and working with leaders and managers on relevant human capital needs.
Partner with other HR team members to oversee delivery of onboarding, career development, leadership development, and learning content and programming for respective businesses.
Play a key role in delivery of broader HR team initiatives such as performance management processes, manager training, and M&A integration.
Oversee the annual year-end compensation, performance and promotion process for the respective businesses.
Facilitate talent exercises with business leaders such as talent reviews and succession planning.
Co-develop annual hiring plan and strategy for respective businesses in partnership with the respective leaders, Talent Acquisition and HR peers.
Provide counsel to Talent Acquisition and business leaders on senior level offers as needed.
Play contributing role in culture and employee engagement efforts within client groups and across broader firm.
Project manage ad-hoc HR related projects or initiatives.
What you need to have:
6+ years as an HR practitioner, preferably in a large, globally matrixed organization
Adaptability; ability to work independently in the gray
Empathy and intellectual curiosity
Continuous improvement mindset
A balance of big picture, strategic mindset and a roll up the sleeves attitude
Experience in project managing initiatives from end-to-end
Leveraging data to draw relevant insights and recommendations for business leaders
Employee relations experience
Demonstrated ability to coach and advise leaders or managers on people issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills working with employees at all levels
Demonstrated enthusiasm to stay abreast of HR and industry market trends
What makes you stand out:
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City based position will be $150,000 to $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
