Artisan Partners seeks a highly motivated, intellectually curious individual to fill a Data Scientist position on the Credit investment team. The investment team, led by portfolio manager Bryan Krug, is dedicated to deep fundamental credit research which serves as a foundation to the team’s high conviction investment process. The ideal candidate understands the unique culture of a talent-based firm and succeeds in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $200,000
Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual’s geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.
Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
- Collaborate closely with the credit team to support their analytical needs
- Drive platform advancement and innovation
- Utilize large datasets to assist credit analysts in a bottom-up investment approach
- Leverage both public and paid data sources for analysis
- Engage in web scraping to gather relevant data
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency
- Work across all sectors to provide comprehensive data insights
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze data, back test, and find correlations
- Present findings and insights effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and potential clients
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and Snowflake
- Strong technical skills and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Experience with large datasets and data manipulation
- Knowledge of web scraping techniques
- Ability to automate tasks using appropriate tools and technologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of the financial implications of data analysis, in addition to technical aspects
- Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate findings
- Experience with statistical and machine learning techniques
- Adept at utilizing APIs for data extraction and integration
- A solid understanding of finance, accounting, credit, and derivative instruments (financial statements, credit risk assessment, and the use of derivatives for hedging and investment purposes) preferred
- Proven experience in presenting complex data and insights to both internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and potential clients, tailoring presentations to different audiences ensuring clarity and impact preferred
