The Opportunity:
Join Hamilton Lane as a Data Analyst on our Cobalt Team in our Conshohocken office. The Cobalt team is responsible for developing, selling and marketing our proprietary, private markets analytic platform CobaltLP. CobaltLP is a cutting-edge, cloud-based software used for portfolio planning, market analytics and diligence.
Our knowledgeable team is actively involved in client interaction and development as well as special projects and initiatives with all departments including: investments, analytics, business development, and relationship management.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Maintain existing, or create new, integrations of data feeds from external data providers into Cobalt
- Manage the process of loading data from Hamilton Lane Investment Due Diligence into Cobalt
- Manage the process of creating a private equity deal benchmark, and work with the Enterprise Data Management team to improve the process.
- Keep open communication and provide feedback for internal and external stakeholders about data provided to Cobalt.
- Provide expertise on all data sources that are in Cobalt
Other Requirements /Functions:
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed
Your background will include:
- BA/BS in related field (e.g., business/finance/engineering/information technology/mathematics/physical sciences;
- 0-2 plus years of work experience in an accounting/financial industry setting preferred
- Comfort and familiarity with large data sets, relational databases, reporting and query tools
- Aptitude for problem solving
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Advanced experience in Excel is a plus (e.g., VBA, Macros)
- Experience with advanced database or computational software tools is a plus (e.g., SQL, Access, SAS, R, Python)
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess good analytical skills
- Must be able to handle multiple assignments/initiatives
