What we do:
As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe we manage approximately $120.2 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $782.9 in non-discretionary assets as of December 31, 2023.
The Opportunity:
The Associate will be responsible for evaluating mostly credit-oriented investment opportunities through a direct credit model. The Direct Credit Team at Hamilton Lane currently manages approximately $3 billion in discretionary capital and invests across a widely diverse set of geographies (within and outside the U.S.) and industry sectors.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Perform fundamental credit analysis and in depth company specific due diligence
- Monitor existing investments by analyzing and reporting on portfolio companies’ financial results
- Create and assess complex financial models
- Prepare detailed credit memorandum
- Present investment opportunities to senior executives of the firm
- Supervise analysts on the team in the performance of their duties
- Assist in prospective and existing client meetings
- Assist in legal documentation related to closing investments
- Conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities
Your background and skills will include:
- Relevant credit investment experience at an investment bank, BDC, broad based high yield and/or leveraged loan fund/private credit manager.
- Credit background; proficient in all phases of capital structure analysis, including valuation analysis of leveraged loans, high yield bonds, distressed securities as well as Private Debt Investments (Senior and Junior).
- A team-oriented approach and an ability to interact productively across multiple verticals within Hamilton Lane
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong interest and commitment to private markets investing
- Strong work ethic, professional demeanor
- Willingness to work 50+ hours / week and travel 10+% of time
