The Opportunity:
Hamilton Lane is hiring a Vice President to manage our Request for Proposal (RFP) team within Client Solutions Support (CSS) in our Suburban Philadelphia - Conshohocken office.
As the Head of RFPs, you will lead the RFP function and overseeing a team of eight employees in our Suburban Philadelphia – Conshohocken Office. The RFP team supports our domestic US and international Client Solutions Team through completion of RFPs/questionnaires and other deliverables for new and existing clients and investors.
In this role, you will support the sales process, leading the team that crafts proposals for prospective and current clients and investors to gain new business. You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to adapt and maintain best practices for processing RFPs and managing the content library used in supporting the sales effort and the ongoing servicing of existing clients.
You will work closely across various departments to ensure deadlines are met, materials meet compliance requirements and data points are accurate.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Oversee management and development of the RFP team.
- Review best practices for and oversee maintenance of the content database used to complete RFPs and service existing client questionnaire requests.
- Own RFP content management strategy leveraging technology and data to continually improve team workflows and content quality.
- Continuously monitor the RFP technology landscape for further improvements or new solutions.
- Ability to manage through complex RFPs and work with various internal teams to find solutions in an effective and efficient manner.
- Support the launch of new product lines and services by helping draft the standard responses for due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) and other written content.
- Responsible for the training and development of existing employees and future hires.
- Serve as final reviewer or escalation point for complex RFPs.
- Analyze win/losses to better position our content and RFP process for future enhancements.
- Allocate projects to team members while ensuring the team is consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Work closely with firm leadership to ensure adequate staffing of RFP resources across our global footprint.
- Assist in RFP approval process and liaise with senior Client Solutions leaders regarding RFP opportunities.
Your background will include:
- 8+ years of professional work experience working in RFP development and completion. Knowledge of private equity, private credit, or real assets strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the institutional sales process and the role of RFP within.
- Experience managing teams and fostering team culture.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communicating skills are a must.
- Ability to continually review and optimize workflows.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability effectively delegate work, ensure accountability, and collaborate with multiple teams.
- A high attention to detail, including solid proofreading skills is critical.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with RFP and CRM systems; SalesEdge Qvidian experience is a plus.
