The Opportunity:
Hamilton Lane is hiring an Associate to join our Real Assets Investment Team in our Suburban Philadelphia, PA office. The Associate will work closely with other members of the real assets team and the broader organization on client deliverables and special projects that help in the development, oversight and maintenance of private market portfolios for both prospects and existing clients. This role will primarily focus on our real assets portfolios that largely consist of real estate, infrastructure and natural resource investments.
We seek professionals with a pro-active mindset and strong communication skills who show a willingness to operate in a deadline-driven environment and interact with clients and prospects. This is an excellent opportunity to expand real assets and broad private markets experience as formal training and mentorship will be provided.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Work directly on various prospect and client inquiries, pipeline calls, presentations, and portfolio development tasks
- Maintain a working knowledge of assigned real assets client portfolios and the investments within these portfolios
- Follow real assets market trends and maintain familiarity of the real assets space to assist with portfolio responsibilities
- Assist in client portfolio development including running pacing models, assisting with allocation decisions, preparing strategic plans, and reviewing quarterly reports
- Respond to ad hoc prospect and client questions and special requests, which may include quantitative and qualitative analysis of the real asset market environment and/or investment opportunity set across primary, secondary, and direct equity real asset investments
- Coordinate workflows across individuals, teams, and departments, and in some instances direct and review Analyst work
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of HL technology tools to aggregate and present information needed for prospect and client deliverables
- Assist with other duties and special projects (including team and firm initiatives) as needed
Your background will include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of work experience
- Private market experience preferred, real assets experience favored
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
- Capacity to learn, absorb and analyze information quickly
- Candidate should be detail oriented, responsible and organized
- Proactively identify challenges and offer solutions
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be able to handle multiple assignments/initiatives
- Investment experience performing complex financial analysis and modeling is a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
